Nancy Sagar is Co-Founder and President of Brighter Investing, a Georgia Registered Investment Advisor and Certified B Corporation. She advises foundations, nonprofits, and individual investors on aligning investment portfolios with their mission, values, and long-term impact on environmental, social, and systemic challenges in the Southeast and beyond.

A Michigan native, Nancy developed an early connection to the natural world through trail building, camping, canoeing, and skiing. She began working on climate issues as a student after studying warming oceans and scientific warnings on climate change. In 2019, she trained with the Climate Reality Leadership Corps and speaks regularly on climate science and solutions.

Nancy offers more than 30 years of experience as a social entrepreneur, consultant, and growth-stage executive across sectors. Her work has addressed complex economic and social challenges, including public-private partnerships that generated more than $1 billion in taxpayer savings, early-stage technology platforms, and initiatives spanning healthcare, housing, and education.

Based in Atlanta since 2015, Nancy is active in the region’s environmental community. She serves as Board Treasurer for Root Local and sits on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the UGA Odum School of Ecology, the advisory board of BoldImpact ATL, and the Southface GoodUse grant committee. She’s also a frequent speaker for regional conferences, community groups, and universities.

Nancy holds a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA with Honors from UCLA.
