Vered Kleinberger,
Executive Assistant |
Vered spent the first part of her life
in Marietta. She then moved further south to the bustling
Atlanta metropolis to broaden her horizons at Emory
University. Upon completion of a BA in Cultural
Anthropology (with a focus in linguistics), the world
beckoned. Vered had her fill of the big city, so she moved
to Burlington, Vermont. With her options wide open, she
took any interesting jobs that came her way. These included
scooping ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s flagship store, cooking
for an amazing little restaurant named Stone Soup, serving
on the crew (and then later as crew leader) for the Winooski
Valley Park District, and helping the beginner skiers and
snowboarders on the bunny slope at Bolton Valley. However,
she always knew that kids and education were her primary
interest, so Vered moved back to Georgia and subbed full
time for two years in the Pickens County School System. She
soon realized that staying indoors all day was not going to
work out for her, so she began Educational Excursions, a
non-profit organization that offers hands-on, interactive
programs for students throughout Georgia. She is still the
Director of Educational Excursions, which has an exciting
calendar already planned for this year! Vered also works
for the Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia, which has
provided her with many opportunities to expand her knowledge
of the non-profit world, as well as having a direct impact
on preserving the beautiful North Georgia mountains while
getting to know many of the wonderful folks who live in
Pickens and the surrounding counties. |
