Robert D. Keller, Ph.D, Executive Director
Robert grew up in the Piedmont area of North Carolina. Following in the footsteps of his mother, Robert joined the United States Navy and served as an intelligence specialist with the Special Forces. After his military service, he received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Biology from The University of Tampa, and received his Ph.D
from Wake Forest University. His dissertation project concentrated on the effects of an exotic species (the European wild boar, Sus scrofa)
on the oak/hickory forests of the Great Smoky Mountains
National Park. Robert is married to the former Kathie
Gilbert and is the father of two daughters
(Trish and Casey) and one son (Ted).
