The
Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia Conservation
Buyers program links conservation-minded buyers with
properties on the market that are under a lasting
conservation agreement or will be placed under such an
agreement at the time of sale. This program enables
community members who share our goal of protecting North
Georgia's natural landscape to actively participate in,
and directly benefit from, land conservation. This
program informs potential buyers of ecologically
valuable properties for sale and provides the
appropriate contact information. Please consider the
inestimable natural value of each listed property. If
you are interested in a specific property listed here,

How does the Conservation Buyer Program work?
Properties can find their way to a conservation buyer
in one of two ways:
1. A landowner sells property that has already been
protected with a conservation easement held and monitored
by The Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia or another qualified land
trust or public agency. The conservation buyer recognizes
that the property will always be restricted to uses
compatible with the conservation values of the property.
2. A landowner sells property to a conservation buyer. The
buyer works with The Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia or another
land trust to place a perpetual conservation restriction on
the property. The conservation restriction is held and
monitored by The Mountain Conservation Trust of Georgia or another
qualified land trust or public agency.
How do I participate?
In the left column is a
list of available properties that we believe are worthy of
conservation. These properties are on the market and their
owners have agreed to post information about them here. We join
these landowners in hoping that these postings will attract
conservation-minded buyers
